The Burns Community Museum is housed in the former Burns High School built in 1904 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The school was the first consolidated grade and high school in Kansas. A classroom, restored to look as it would have originally, reminds visitors of early-day education. The first floor of the two-story building contains a mix of school and community exhibits, along with many pictures and stories donated by families long associated with Burns. Open by appointment. Call 316-726-5833.
Every year Burns is host to the Route 77 Classic Car show. The event takes place on memorial weekend.
